Oregon loses jobs in January, unemployment hits new low
Oregon lost about 1,800 jobs in January, as the state unemployment rate hit 3.3%.
It was the lowest state unemployment rate in 44 years. December's rate was 3.4%. A year ago, it was 4.2%.
In December, the state added about 800 jobs. But the state lost jobs in health care and social assistance, government, professional services, construction and manufacturing.
