Police investigating 48th homicide in Portland this year
The Portland Police Bureau has begun the 48th homicide investigation of the year, according to a news release.
Officers first responded to North Columbia Boulevard at Bank Street in the St. Johns neighborhood around 7 a.m. Dec. 2 for a welfare check that was determined to be a death investigation. George Middle School is located nearby.
On Dec. 3, investigators announced that the death of Gabriel Rivera, 20, had been ruled a homicide caused by gunshot wounds.
Detectives continue to work the case.
