Gunshots between vehicles leaves one wounded
A man was wounded in an exchange of gunfire between vehicles in Northeast Portland early Friday.
The victim, Armondo R. Parker, 37, of Portland, was arrested after he was released from a hospital. He is charged with Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
According to police, at 4:40 a.m. Jan. 22, a sergeant was in the area of the 8000 block of Northeast Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard when he saw what appeared to be occupants of two vehicles shooting at each other in a restaurant parking lot. The sergeant requested additional resources and began following one of the involved vehicles.
When the vehicle stopped near Northeast 33rd Drive and Argyle Street, officers discovered that the driver was injured. He was transported to a hospital by ambulance with injuries that are not life threatening.
Traffic was not impacted, but the parking lot was closed off as a crime scene.
