Portland Streetcar service was delayed Tuesday afternoon between stops after a semitruck collided with a streetcar and knocked it out of commission.

No one was injured in the accident, which happened shortly before 2 p.m. on Southeast Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, just south of the Hawthorne Bridge.

Traffic in the area was blocked for hours as the accident was cleared and investigated.

All streetcars are in use on the west- and eastside streetcar lines. Although the city has received an additional streetcar from Oregon Iron Works, it has not yet been certified for service. It is not known when the streetcar will be certified and service between stops will return to pre-accident times.

The crash occurred at the Southeast Market Street intersection. The semitruck driver collided with the streetcar after a wide turn onto MLK.

No one was injured in the crash. Passengers were seated in the rear of the streetcar.
