Police arrested a naked man allegedly high on methamphetamine running on an area freeway early Thursday morning.

No one was hurt in the incident.

Oleg Orestorich Lakotiy, 19, was cited for second-degree disorderly conduct and reckless endangerment. He was transported to a Portland hospital for treatment for an apparently drug overdose.

According to police, the incident began at 3:28 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 3, when Central Precinct officers responded to the report of a naked man running and yelling in the area of Southwest First Avenue and Yamhill Street.

As officers were enroute, additional reports were received that the man was running westbound on Yamhill at 10th and 16th avenues.

Officers initially made contact with the man, later identified as Lakotiy, at Southwest 16th Avenue and Taylor Street. He did not respond to commands and ran away westbound toward Interstate 405.

Officers then saw him jump down approximately 15 feet and land on his back on the freeway, get up and start running through oncoming freeway traffic. Several cars swerved to avoid hitting him.

Officers were eventually able to catch him and used a Taser to take him into custody.
