A man with a gun robbed a motel in the Lloyd District early Monday morning.

The suspect escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash. He is described as a Hispanic male in is 40s to 50s, 5'9" tall, wearing a dark-colored bandana over his face, a green jacket, and dark-colored pants.

According to police, at 3:20 a.m. on April 14, North Precinct officers responded to the report of an armed robbery at the Residence Inn Marriott, located at 1710 Northeast Multnomah Street.

Officers arrived in the area and contacted the employee, who said the suspect entered the hotel and walked behind the counter. The employee told the suspect that he could not be behind the counter, and the suspect displayed a handgun and demanded money, police say.

After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect left the hotel without injuring the employee.

Several officers, including a K-9 Unit, canvassed the neighborhood but did not locate anyone matching the suspect's description.
