Family hosts fundraiser for Huntington's research
In May, the Tribune introduced readers to Luke Hilgers. Just short of his 18th birthday, Hilgers was wrestling with whether to take a genetic test for Huntingtons Disease while helping care for his mother, who was diagnosed with the disease six years ago.
In September, Hilgers and his family are hosting a Toast For A Cure event to raise funds to support Huntingtons research and support groups. The event is from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 7 at Winters Hill Vineyard in Dayton.
Tickets will cost $25 for adults, $10 for children, and the event includes a barbeque, wine tasting, gospel music and an auction.
