Abdi Ali Hirsi, 29, was said to be a danger to himself and others

Update: Police reported at 4:44 p.m. Tuesday Dec. 2 that Abdi Ali Hirsi has been found safe. Abdi Ali Hirsi

Gresham resident Hirsi, 29, was reported missing on Nov. 26 and police learned he was considered a possible danger to himself and others.

An adult foster home in the 18600 block of Northeast Halsey Street reported Hirsi as missing after he walked away from an outing to the Fairview Library in neighboring Fairview.

Police were notified after a four-hour search was unsuccessful.

Hirsi, who is said to suffer from cognitive disabilities, was committed to the care of the foster home by court order. The commitment is linked to an August 2012 incident in Washington County where Hirsi was accused of attempting to murder his step-father by stabbing him in the neck.

The foster home reports Hirsi does not have the right or capacity to make his own decisions.
