When crews arrived on scene, they found both semis fully involved. A spokesperson said firefighters were quickly able to get everything under control within a matter of minutes. Because the trucks were close to a structure, Clackamas Fire District No. 1 called for additional resources from the Portland Fire Bureau, emergency dispatchers said.

There were no reported injuries. A spokesperson for the fire district said crews are in the process of working to clean up a diesel leak.

During the course of the fire, a fuel tank was ruptured causing diesel fuel to spill. Due to the proximity of the incident to Johnson Creek, the Coast Guard, DEQ, EPA and Milwaukie Public Works were notified. The spill was quickly contained by Milwaukie Public Works prior to any fuel getting into the waterway.

Firefighters have not said what, if anything, was inside the trailers, but authorities said the fire is not suspicious.
