Driver dies in Oak Grove Boat Ramp incident
Clackamas County Sheriff's Office detectives are investigating how a man died Friday driving into the Willamette River at the Oak Grove boat ramp.
At 9:16 a.m., Clackamas Fire District No. 1 personnel were dispatched to a report of a vehicle in the water. Crews arrived on scene to have a nearby fisherman report that he heard a vehicle go into the water.
Water rescue crews were immediately dispatched to the scene. Divers located the vehicle 27 feet below the surface and the driver's body was recovered 45 minutes later. It is unknown at this time what caused the vehicle to go into the water.
Gladstone Fire, Lake Oswego Fire, Tualatin Valley Fire and AMR assisted at the scene.
