COURTESY OF PORTLAND FIRE & RESCUE - Firefighters rescued a woman Thursday morning, April 2, from this burning home in Southeast Portland.Portland firefighters rescued a woman from a house fire Thursday morning after she was trapped on the home’s second floor.

The woman was taken to a local hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation. Her name and medical condition were not released.

Firefighters were called at about 9:11 a.m., April 2, to a house fire in the 12000 block of Southeast Mill Court, where they found flames coming out the back of the house. Firefighters searching the residence heard the woman calling for help from the second floor. She was in the early stages of being overcome by smoke, firefighters said.

Fire investigators are looking for the cause of the blaze.
