KOIN 6 NEWS - This KOIN 6 graphic tells the story of April's record-stting temperatures.The month that just ended was the warmest April on record in Portland, according to KOIN 6 Meteorologist Riley O’Connor.

And May is starting equally warm, with sunshine and temperatures in the 80s predicted on the 1st.

According to O'Connor, the combined highs and lows in April averaged to 57.8 degrees — breaking the previous mark set in 2004 by 1.5 degrees.

The Summer of 2015 also set warm temperature records, followed by record-setting rain totals over the winter.

KOIN 6 Chief Meteorologist Kristen Van Dyke will preview Summer 2016 Monday at 6 p.m.
