Evicted tenant held on attempted murder charges
The victims were a man and woman who worked for the apartment complex management where the suspect was evicted Monday.
A 65-year-old man is being held on attempted murder charges after a Monday afternoon shooting that wounded a man and a woman at a North Kerby Avenue apartment complex.
Portland detectives said Reynaldo Diaz Cabrera was booked into Multnomah County Jail and would be arraigned in circuit court Tuesday, Dec. 20. Police said the shooting victims are recovering from their injuries and are expected to survive.
The shooting happened at about 12:36 p.m., Dec. 19, at the Cascadian Terrace Apartments, 5700 N. Kerby Ave. The victims are a 45-year-old man and a 64-year-old woman.
Police learned that the suspect was evicted Monday and the victims were employees of the apartment complex management.
Officers found Cabrera in a vehicle at Northeast Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Winchell Street. A firearm has been seized as evidence.
