Oregon State Police say snowy conditions may have cotnributed to a crash that also injured occupants of a second vehicle.

OREGON STATE POLICE - Road conditions may have contributed to a fatal crash on Highway 47 on Sunday.Snowy conditions may have contributed to the death of a Forest Grove woman who was killed in a crash on Highway 47 on Sunday afternoon.

According to the Oregon State Police, Nichele Brook Akers, 28, was declared dead at the scene by medical personnel that responded to the crash around 2 p.m. on Feb. 5 near milepost 85 just south of Banks in Washington County.

The preliminary investigation indicates a 1997 Ford truck operated by Joseph M. Poetter, 35, of Bank, was northbound on Hwy. 47 when a 2005 Chrysler van operated Akers crossed over into the northbound lane and collided with Poetter.

The occupants of the Ford truck were transported by ambulance to OSHU with minor injuries. They included Heather Poetter and her three three juvenile children.

The weather and road conditions are considered a factor in the crash as the investigation continues.

The Oregon State Police were assisted by Oregon Department of Transportation, Banks Fire Department and the Washington County Sheriff's office.
