Fugitive held in Lents neighborhood stabbing death
A 38-year-old man was arrested Thursday in connection with the Tuesday stabbing death of a man in the Lents neighborhood.
The U.S. Marshals Oregon Fugitive Task Force arrested Michael Allen Shipley on two outstanding warrants and probable cause for murder in connection with the May 16 death of Brian Bruns.
Shipley was lodged in the Multnomah County Jail on a murder charge. He will be arraigned on Friday, May 19.
Portland homicide detectives said Wednesday that 53-year-old Bruns died from stab wounds Tuesday evening during a fight in the Lents neighborhood. East Precinct officers found Bruns at about 8:36 p.m., May 16, in the 4400 block of Southeast 99th Avenue. Bruns had traumatic injuries and died at the scene.
