Speed suspected as factor in Sunday wreck that left one man hospitalized and a woman with minor injures

MULTNOMAH COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE - Two people were injured when this 2007 Kia flipped on Southeast Foster Road.A adult man was critically injured in an early Sunday morning single car crash in Gresham.

A adult woman in the vehicle sustained minor injures. Neither victim was immediately identified.

According to the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office, on Sept. 10, deputies responded to a report of a single-vehicle, critical-injury crash in the 16500 block of Southeast Foster Road. When they arrived, the deputies were informed that an adult male was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. The female did not require transport.

Initial information indicates that a 2007 Kia Rio was travelling westbound on Foster when it lost control, flipped over and came to a rest on its top. Excessive speed appears to be a contributing factor.

Foster was closed between Southeast 172nd Avenue and Southeast Jenne Road while the Multnomah County Vehicular Crimes Team conducted its preliminary investigation. The MCSO was assisted by the Portland Police Bureau, Gresham Police Department, Portland Fire and Rescue, Gresham Fire Department and American Medical Response.
