Replacing bridges and other trail work is part of the city's Renew Forest Park initiative, a 20-year project to maintain and improve the park.

COURTESY PHOTO: CITY OF PORTLAND - A bridge replacement project will close part of Forest Park's Macleay Trail for a couple of weeks in March. Portland Parks & Recreation work will close a couple of Forest Park trail bridges in March for repairs.

Beginning Monday, March 5, the Lower Macleay Trail bridge will be closed for two or three weeks as crews install replacement decking and finish a new bridge. The work requires the city to close the Lower Macleay Trailhead to the Wildwood Trail (at the Stone House). A detour will be posted during the closure.

The Stone House will be accessible by the Wildwood Trail.

The Wildwood Trail will be closed until about Friday, March 2, as a contractor replaces bridge decking and finishes other construction on the Wildwood Trail bridge.
