Officers exchange gunfire with man while responding to a domestic disturbance last Saturday.

KOIN 6 NEWS - A domestic disturbance in Hillsboro ended with a man shot to death by police after an exchange of gunfire. Hillsboro police shot and killed a man while responding to a domestic disturbance on Saturday, March 10.

No officers were injured. The name of the suspect was not immediately released.

According to the Hillsboro Police Department, the incident began at 11:22 p.m. on March 10 when officers responded to a domestic disturbance in the 2000 block of Southeast 54th Avenue.

According to police, as officers approached the residence, they encountered a male adult armed with a firearm. There was an exchange of gunfire during the initial contact and the man died at the scene.

The Washington County Majors Crimes Team is leading the investigation.
