One man was injured in a Wednesday afternoon shooting in Northeast Portland.
Portland police said the man suffered a serious but not life-threatening injury. The victim was being treated at a local hospital for the injury. His name has not been released.
The shooting happened at about 5:40 p.m., March 21, in the 300 block of Northeast 79th Avenue. East Precinct officers provided emergency first aid with help from neighborhood residents until emergency medical personnel arrived.
A search of the area found several parked vehicles struck by bullets. No suspect was found.
Neighbors said they heard seven to 10 shots fired. A white Ford Mustang left the neighborhood shortly after the shooting.
The city's Gang Enforcement Team is investigating the shooting.
