UPDATE: Victim of homicidal violence identified
Portland homicide detectives are investigating the death of Eugene C. Gora, an 85-year-old Portland man.
"The Oregon State Medical Examiner's Office determined Gora died from homicidal violence," police said in a news release on Friday.
Earlier this week, police said they were investigating the death of a man whose body was found Thursday evening in a Northeast Portland residence.
Police said the man's body was discovered at about 6:30 p.m., May 10, by a friend in the residence in the 4200 block of Northeast Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard.
"It don't make sense to me at all," grandson Sam Scalf told KOIN 6 News, The Tribune's media partner. "He's an elderly man. He's defenseless, like his memory ain't there."
Officers found circumstances at the scene that they said were suspicious, leading to the probe by homicide detectives.
