A 48-year-old was in a crosswalk when she was struck on Friday, June 1 around 11 p.m. in Portland.

(Image is Clickable Link) VIA KOIN 6 NEWS - Police and first responders rushed to Sandy Boulevard after a hit-and-run was reported on Friday, June 1. Police are hunting for the driver of a white SUV after a woman suffered "potentially life-threatening injuries" during an alleged hit-and-run.

Police say a 48-year-old woman was crossing Northeast Sandy Boulevard near 62nd Avenue when she was struck by a "smaller" white SUV around 11 p.m. on Friday, June 1 in the Rose City Park neighborhood.

An eyewitness told police the woman was in a crosswalk traveling south when she was struck by a car traveling west.

The driver apparently stopped the car for a moment before fleeing onto Northeast 61st Avenue at high speed.

Police say the woman was taken by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
