A man was shot and wounded at an unknown address Saturday evening.
The name of the victim was not immediately released. No suspect information was immediately released, either.
According to police, at 8:34 p.m. on June 23, East Precinct officers responded to the report that someone had been struck by gunfire and was being transported by private vehicle to the Winco Foods located at 1950 Northeast 122nd Avenue.
When officers and emergency medical responders arrived at the Winco Foods, they located an adult male suffering from gunshot injuries inside a red sedan. The officers also contacted the adult male driver.
Emergency medical responders transported the injured man to an area hospital by ambulance for treatment of what were believed to be serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Officers were not able to locate where this shooting occurred by Sunday morning. Based on preliminary information, the Gang Enforcement Team will be conducting the investigation. Criminalists with the Forensic Evidence Division will also assist with this investigation.
