North Precinct officers scrambled to Bikini Barista, 1770 N.E. Columbia Boulevard, following reports of an armed robber demanding cash around 4:10 p.m. on Monday, July 23.

The authorities say the man was carrying a gun and fled the java purveyor with an "undisclosed" amount of cash. He was last seen driving westbound on Northeast Lombard Place.

"Based on preliminary information, officers believe the suspect is a white male with a thin build, armed with a handgun," a police spokesman wrote. "The suspect's vehicle was described as an older white four door foreign sedan."

Police say they do not have surveillance images to release, but the Robbery Detail continues to investigate.
