KOIN NEWS 6 PHOTO - Clergy were arrested at an ICE protest in Southwest Portland on Tuesday, Aug. 7. PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- The ACLU says three clergy members were arrested at an ICE protest on Tuesday morning.

The arrests happened during a planned rally to demand the release of asylum seekers being held in Sheridan.

Those arrested were later identified as Rev. Michael Ellick, Rev. Barbara Nixon and Rabbi Debra Kolodny.

The Department of Homeland Security said the three face a charge of obstruction. They will be cited and released.

A group of 100 people gathered in the South Waterfront and walked toward the ICE facility, the site of a weeks-long camp that was dismantled last month.

The Interfaith Movement for Immigrant Justice organized the rally.
