Reese's Peanut Butter Cups tops for Oregon trick-or-treaters
Halloween is still a few weeks away, but here's a hint what those trick-or-treaters banging on your door might really want: Reese's Peanut Butter Cups.
The peanut butter-flavored confection is the most popular candy in the state, according to a new survey by Clair Robins of Candystore.com. The online candy blog looked at 11 years of data and came up with a state-by-state list of the most popular candy in each area. Oregon's most popular candy is the Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, followed by M&Ms and Candy Corn.

The National Retail Federation estimates that we'll spend about $2.6 billion this year on Halloween candy. That's about $1 million less than we spent last year, according to the federation.
According to Candystore.com, about 179 million Americans celebrate Halloween, spending an average of $27 per person. Most spend their money on trick-or-treat candy, with about a quarter of those purchases done online. Many Oregonians tend to hand out full-sized candy bars, according to the survey.
