The suspect left the vehicle and the victim was then transported in the 'motor home' to a hospital.

A man is recovering from a "serious but non-life-threatening" gunshot wound that occurred inside a recreational vehicle, Portland Police say.

East Precinct officers responded to reports of gunfire near Southeast 105th Avenue and Division Street around 6:43 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 24, according to a news release.

"Officers arrived in the area and located evidence that someone had been injured on the roadway and sidewalk," a police spokesman wrote.

Officers later learned that an adult man with a gunshot wound had been transported by private vehicle to a local hospital.

Police believe the man was shot inside a recreational vehicle. The suspect in the shooting left the RV, and the victim or someone else then apparently drove the "motor home" to the hospital.

Police are not releasing suspect information at this time. The investigation continues.

Anyone with information is asked to call 503-823-3333.
