Portland Police are investigating a stabbing in Old Town.
Central Precinct officers responded to the stabbing near Northwest Second Avenue and Burnside Street around 3:23 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 2, according to a news release.
The 25-year-old male victim was stabbed in the left arm, police say. Officers applied a tourniquet, and the victim was transported by ambulance to an area hospital, where he was treated and released.
Police say the man and his friend were walking along First Avenue when a strange man "acting psychotic" approached and stabbed the victim "without provocation."
The suspect fled the scene and has not yet been located.
"The suspect was described as a white male in his mid-20s, approximately six feet tall, wearing dark clothing and a bald head," a police spokesperson wrote.
