UPDATE: The 66-year-old victim was struck by two vehicles that drove from the scene. The drivers have since contacted police.

A 66-year-old woman was killed Wednesday afternoon after she was struck by two vehicles on Northeast 162nd Avenue and Halsey Street in what police said was a hit-and-run collision.

Police said Victoria Lynn Pettibone of Portland died at the scene. She was the city's 32nd crash fatality this year.

According to police the woman was hit at about 5:20 p.m. Nov. 14, as she "was positioned on the road at the time of the collision." The woman was struck by two vehicles. Both vehicles drove away from the scene. Police said officers were unable to locate the two vehicles involved in the collision.

On Thursday, Nov. 15, police said both drivers who left the area after the collision contacted the police bureau and were cooperating in the investigation.

The Traffic Division's Major Crash Team is investigating the fatal collision. Northeast 162nd Avenue was closed between Multnomah and Halsey streets during the investigation.
