Man arrested for assaulting woman, shooting at apartment
A felon with a gun is behind bars for allegedly firing five shots at a Southeast Portland apartment complex after assaulting a woman on Sunday.
DeAngelo R. Andersen-Smith, 22, was arrested shortly after police were called to the apartment in the 100 block of Southeast 127th Avenue just after midnight on Dec. 30.
According to police, Andersen-Smith assaulted the woman in the apartment then ran west on East Burnside Street. Officers spotted him at Southeast 122nd and Stark and arrested him without incident.
Investigators said they found five .40-caliber shell casings in front of the apartment, but no one was injured when the shots were fired.
Andersen-Smith is being held in the Multnomah County Jail for being a felon with a gun, strangulation, unlawful use of a weapon and firing a gun in the city.
