Portland police responded to the area around 9:08 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 15, after receiving reports that a "pedestrian was struck by a vehicle" on the ramp connecting westbound Interstate 84 and southbound Interstate 5.

After investigating, however, police learned that the man had jumped intentionally.

Officers said the man, who was not identified, was "already deceased" when they arrived on scene.

"The man fell on a passing truck," officers wrote.

The driver of the truck reportedly remained on the scene and cooperated with police, and will not be cited or face charges. All lanes of the freeway are now open.
