Police in North Portland find man hit by car on Fessenden Street on Sunday night.

VIA GOOGLE MAPS - The 7500 block of North Fessenden Street is shown here.  A man was seriously wounded after being hit by a car in North Portland. It was one of two serious injury crashes reported this weekend.

North Precinct officers rushed to the St. Johns neighborhood around 9:51 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 24 following reports that a man was hit by a car in the street.

The incident occurred in the 7500 block of North Fessenden Street, according to a news release.

The adult man was taken to the hospital for treatment of "life threatening injuries." The motorist stayed on the scene and is said to be cooperating with authorities. Fessenden was closed from Calhoun to Tioga avenues for several hours for an investigation.

"The Portland Police Bureau reminds everyone to wear reflective clothing if walking or biking and to watch for vulnerable road users if driving," police say.
