Portland police have begun the "early stages" of a death investigation after a gunshot man was found dead inside a Portland home.
North Precinct officers responded around 9:30 p.m. on Friday, March 8 to a residence in the 4000 block of Northeast 136th Avenue, according to a news release.
Officers found the man suffering from a gunshot wound, and paramedics determined the man was dead.
"The other occupants of the residence are cooperating with investigators," officers say. "The firearm believed to have been involved has been located."
Police say there is no risk to the general public. The state medical examiner and police continue to investigate. Anyone with information is asked to call 503-823-3333.
