Dog, driver seriously hurt in roll-over crash in Portland
A driver and their dog suffered "serious" injuries during a roll-over crash involving the trailer of a semi truck, police say.
Central Precinct officers and medics rushed to the 3800 block of Northwest Front Avenue around 6:35 p.m. on Friday, March 22 following reports of the crash.
Police say they found a passenger car "on its top" with the wounded driver and their pet inside the vehicle.
"Initial information suggests that the semi was turning and the car struck the trailer of the semi, causing the car to roll over," according to a news release. "The driver of the semi was not injured."
Firefighters and paramedics blocked traffic between Northwest Kittridge Avenue and 26th Place while responding to the crash. The driver was transported to a local hospital, while the dog was taken Dove Lewis Animal Hospital.
Police say the investigation continues.
