The pedestrian suffered 'serious' injuries not believed to be life-threatening near 3rd Avenue

Portland police are investigating a crash between a driver and a pedestrian that inflicted "serious" injuries.

Central Precinct officers responded to West Burnside Street at Southwest 3rd Avenue around 10:27 p.m. on Friday, April 5 following reports of an injured pedestrian who was struck by a car.

Police say the person was taken by ambulance to the hospital for treatment of injuries believed to be non-life-threatening.

"The driver of the car remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators," according to a news release.

Police say the vehicle was traveling east on Burnside while the pedestrian was crossing at 3rd Avenue. The intersection was closed while forensic evidence was gathered at the scene.
