A man was arrested for pointing a BB gun at passing traffic in Southeast Portland early Sunday.
Caleb J. Baker was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center on three counts of menacing and one count of disorderly conduct in the second degree.
No one was injured in the incident.
According to police, at 8:35 a.m. on April 7, Central Precinct officers were dispatched on the report of a man pointing a handgun at passing traffic in the 200 Block of Southeast Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Officers did not locate the suspect there and began searching the area.
Officers then located and challenged the suspect at Northeast 1st Avenue and Northeast Couch Street. He followed commands and was arrested without incident.
Officers recovered the gun, which turned out to be a realistic looking BB gun. The investigation revealed that the man pointed the gun at an ambulance crew as well.
