Suspect arrested for St. Johns homicide
A St. Helens suspect was arrested Thursday morning after a man was found dead in the St. Johns neighborhood.
Portland police said deputies with the Columbia County Sheriff's Office helped to find and arrest Logan N. Johannsen, 26, in St. Helens around 5 a.m. on charges of murder, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and unlawful use of a weapon.
Police have identified the victim as Gregory Isernhagen, 49.
A homicide investigation was launched Wednesday night after officers responded to a welfare check and found the man's body at a home in the 8100 block of North Jersey Street.
People living in the neighborhood told KOIN 6 News they didn't hear anything out of the ordinary before police arrived. Many were shocked to learn that a man had been killed in the normally quiet area.
"We still love the neighborhood, it's not going to make us move but you know, nobody wants that on their street," said Katie Keller who lives on North Jersey Street.
Johannsen was due to be arraigned Friday.
Police are asking anyone who knows anything about where Johannsen was in the 3 days leading up to the incident to call Detective Travis Law at 503-823-0395 or Detective Vince Cui at 503-823-0449.
