Portland Police charge Princeton Owens with 'stranger on stranger' attempted rape on April 19.

MCSO PHOTO - Princeton OwensPortland police have arrested a man on charges of first-degree attempted rape.

Princeton Diamond Owens, 23, was arrested after Central Precinct officers responded to a disturbance call near Northwest Kearney Street and 19th Avenue around 12:27 a.m. on Friday, April 19.

Police say they arrived and located a victim. They say Owens was also taken into custody.

"An independent witness took the time to help officers with the investigation," according to a news release. "This was determined to be a stranger on stranger sexual assault."

Police say Owens has spoken with detectives from the bureau's Sex Crimes Unit. Owens is currently incarcerated at Inverness Jail.
