Dennis Spencer charged with disorderly conduct following report of man holding pistol on April 20.

PPB PHOTO - Porltand Police say they confiscated this realistic airsoft pistol from Dennis Spencer on April 20.Portland Police Bureau officers arrested a man after he was allegedly carrying a realistic replica firearm in public.

Central Precinct officers responded to Southwest Barbur Boulevard at 30th Avenue around 12:45 p.m. on Saturday, April 20 after a "concerned community member" flagged down a patrol officer and reported seeing a man with a black gun, according to a news release.

The officer located the man, who allegedly began running away, spurring additional officers to respond.

"Officers tracked down and challenged the suspect nearby," police say. "The suspect complied with officers' commands and he was arrested."

Police say they seized a black handgun nearby, but determined it was not a real firearm. Police claim no one was injured.

In December of 2018, Spencer was arrested for running red lights and stop signs in an attempt to elude police while driving a gold colored Lexus LS 400, according to a probable cause affidavit. The case is ongoing, as Spencer allegedly failed to appear in court.

Charges of unlawful entry into a motor vehicle were lodged against Spencer in 2017, but the case was dropped.

Spencer remains behind bars at Inverness Jail at this time.
