UPDATE: Victim in Wednesday shooting in Southeast Portland is identified as 39-year-old man.

The victim has been identified as James G. Richardson, 39. His family has been notified.

East Precinct officers responded around 10:09 a.m. Wednesday, April 24 to the 8400 block of Southeast Ellis Street, where they found a man with a gunshot injury.

At the time, officers said, "He was provided emergency medical care at the scene, then was transported to an area hospital. His condition is considered life threatening."

Police say the Gun Violence Reduction Team is investigating. Anyone with information is asked to call 503-823-3333.
