Babysitter charged with sexual abuse in Portland
A 33-year-old Portland man has been charged with sexually abusing a child, Multnomah County prosecutors say.
Stacy Lee Curtiss was already in custody for a pending trial, first announced in January, involving charges of encouraging child sexual abuse and encouraging the sexual assault of an animal.
But in a new 43-count indictment, Curtiss is charged with first-degree sexual abuse, first-degree unlawful sexual penetration and using a child in a display of sexually explicit conduct.
Prosecutors alleged that Curtiss had sexual contact and intercourse with a child under the age of 12 multiple times between the years of 2014 and 2019.
Officials also say Curtiss recorded child pornography in 2013.
"During the investigation into the alleged conduct of Curtiss, law enforcement learned that he was the victim's babysitter and that he potentially the babysitter of other children in Multnomah County," according to a news release.
The victim and Curtiss are not related. Court documents also state Curtiss worked as a nanny for many years.
