Portland Police Bureau announce arrest of Carlos Rodriguez-Lance after Old Town Portland stabbing.

MCSO PHOTO - Carlos Rodriguez-LancePolice have arrested a man they say stabbed another person in the neck and arm in downtown Portland.

Central Precinct officers responded to the Old Town neighborhood near the corner of 4th Avenue and Northwest Glisan Street around 7:21 a.m. on Monday, May 13, following reports of a "disturbance" involving a weapon, according to a news release.

Police say the alleged victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening stab wounds.

Police arrested Carlos Rodriguez-Lance, 58, on charges of second-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon and on a parole warrant.

Police say Rodriguez-Lance was "arrested but was also transported to the hospital with injuries relating to the altercation that occurred prior to police arrival."

He has been convicted of 23 felonies, 10 misdemeanors and has 57 parole violations on his record, according to booking records. There are 31 listed instances of "failure to appear" in court in the documents.

Rodriguez-Lance last listed address, from 2016, was a shelter. He remains behind bars at the downtown jail at this time.
