Man killed at SE Portland apartments
A man was shot and killed at a Southeast Portland apartment building Saturday evening.
The Medical Examiner has identified the victim as 18-year-old Lorenzo C. Gordon. The manner and cause of death was homicide by gunshot wound.
According to police, at 7:59 p.m. on May 25, East Precinct officers responded to the report of a subject shot in the 600 block of Southeast 162nd Avenue. Officers located an injured male subject in the parking lot of the Springtree Apartments and requested medical assistance, but he died at the scene.
Detectives from the Homicide Division and criminalists from the Forensic Evidence Division responded to assume the investigation. The Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death. The victim's identity will be confirmed by the Medical Examiner and after next of kin are notified, the victim's identity will be released.
Officers closed off the neighborhood for several hours for the investigation.
