One man dead in early morning shooting
Police have arrested a suspect in a Wednesday killing of a 30-year-old man in Northeast Portland.
Tyler Wayne Pierce, 30, is charged with manslaughter 1, unlawful possession of a loaded firearm in public, and unlawful possession of a firearm.
The victim identified Thursday, June 20, as Justin Stewart. He was seriously wounded and died while being treated at a local hospital. Police said the two men knew each other.
According to police, at about 2:36 a.m. on June 19, North Precinct officers were called to Northeast Sandy Boulevard and Prescott Street, where they found the shooting victim and another man. Officers recovered a firearm in the incident.
Northeast Sandy Boulevard was closed for hours during the investigation.
