A GoFundMe campaign is underway to move the pods to the North Park Blocks after they were evicted to make way for a Ritz-Carlton hotel.

KOIN 6 NEWS - The former Southwest Alder Street food pod location was empty by Sunday, June 30.The large and well-known food cart pod on Southwest Alder Street in downown Portland is no longer.

The nearly 40 carts that once lined a parking lot between Southwest 10th Avenue and Alder Street had until Sunday, June 30 to clear out. They were evicted to make way for construction to begin on a Ritz-Carlton hotel.

Some of the carts moved to a temporary home near the former downtown Post Office where they will be stored until a new location is found. Others tell KOIN 6 News they have found new locations throughout the city.

A GoFundMe for the carts is aiming to raise $300,000 to move the pod to the North Park Blocks. By the time they moved, $12,400 had been raised.
