Man wounded in early Sunday shooting
Police are investigating an early Sunday shooting in Northeast Portland that left one man wounded.
The name of the victim was not immediately released. No suspect information was immediately released, either.
According to police, at 5:05 a.m. on Jan. 7, North Precinct officers were dispatched to reports of shots fired in the 1400 block of Northeast Jarrett Street. When officers arrived they discovered evidence of gunfire. There were bullet strikes to at least three parked vehicles.
About 15 minutes later, officers received information that a patient had arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound. Officers responded and learned that the patient had what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.
The Gun Violence Reduction Team (GVRT) was called and assumed the investigation.
