Portland motorcyclist dead in rural Clackamas County crash
A Portland man is dead after his motorcycle collided with a car in rural Clackamas County.
Russell Nelson, 65, of Portland, was declared dead after being flown by helicopter to Oregon Health & Science University, Oregon State Police say.
The crash was reported around 4:48 p.m. on Sunday, July 21, on Highway 224 at milepost 15, which is just west of Southeast Amisigger Road in Eagle Creek.
Police say a Buick Lesabre — driven by 88-year-old Estacada woman Violet Sullivan — was traveling west on Highway 224 when the sedan turned left "in front of" Nelson's Harley Davidson motorcycle.
The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office, the County Fire department and the Oregon Department of Transportation assisted in the investigation.
