The driver in an Interstate 84 crash fled the scene, and Gresham Police are asking for information

VIA GRESHAM POLICE - Gresham Police say a fatal hit and run involved a car similar to the one shown here. A woman was found dead in Gresham on July 24 near I-84 on the eastbound 181st Ave. off-ramp, apparently the victim of a hit-and-run accident, and police are looking for a suspect and searching for the vehicle involved.

Based on evidence from the scene, Gresham Police said the suspect vehicle is a dark blue 2011-2014 Volkswagen Jetta with significant front-end damage.

At about 5:20 a.m. Wednesday, July 24, Gresham Police responded to the report of a person down on the 181st Ave. offramp. Officers arrived on scene and located a deceased adult female, Gresham Police said in a release. It appeared that the victim was struck by a vehicle.

Gresham Police also responded to a car accident near 2105 N.E. Burnside, near the Oregon Trail shopping center.

Anyone who may have information about the I-84 fatal accident is asked to call Gresham Police at 503-618-2220.
