Brown lowers flags to honor shooting victims
Gov. Kate Brown ordered flags on state buildings across the state to be flown at half-staff to honor the 29 victims of shootings in El Paso and Dayton.
Brown issued her order Sunday afternoon, Aug. 4. The flags will be lowered until sunset Thursday, Aug. 8.
"What happened this weekend in El Paso and Dayton is devastating, and Dan and I grieve with those who lost loved ones," Brown said. "Sadly, we've been here before. We must take a hard look at why hatred like this exists, and do all we can to make sure it has no place in our country."
