Police are investigating circumstances that led to the victim showing up at an area hospital during an investigation

KOIN 6 NEWS - Southeast 136th Avenue was closed early Wednesday.Police are investigating an early Wednesday shooting in Southeast Portland that apparently left one man wounded.

The name of the victim was not immediately released.

According to police, at 4:43 a.m. on Aug. 14, East Precinct officers responded to reports of shots and yelling heard in the area of the 3200 block of Southeast 136th Avenue. when officers arrived, they discovered evidence of gunfire and blood in the area.

A residence believed to be involved was searched for potential victims. No victims were located at the scene or in the residence.

Police said that a male showed up at an area hospital shortly after the house search was completed with injuries consistent with being shot by a firearm. His condition and the circumstances surrounding his injuries were not immediately known,

Investigators are working to gather evidence, witness accounts and video. Southeast 136th Avenue North of Powell Boulevard was temporarily closed for the investigation.

There is no identified on-going risk to community members in the area. Expect to see law enforcement personnel in the area while they continue to investigate this matter.
