Missing elderly man found safe
Portland police said Monday an 82-year-old man with symptoms of dementia who had been missing since Saturday was found safe and returned to his family.
Ronald Banks was found Monday morning, Aug. 19, police said. He was last seen Saturday, Aug. 17, at about 10 a.m. leaving his home in the 5500 block of Northeast 27th Avenue. He was last seen wearing a blue sweat suit. He walks slowly using a multi-colored cane and regularly goes on short walks and usually returns home on his own.
Banks talked to his family about going to the hospital for a check-up, but local hospitals have no record of his arrival. However, last year he went missing and took a bus to Oklahoma, where he was born.
